Announcements:
2009 Dog License Announcement:
The Charlton Town Clerk together with the Charlton Animal Control is pleased to announce the change of the dog licensing period. This year (2009) will be the transition year. We will be changing the license period from April 1st thru March 31st to the calendar year - Jan. 1st thru Dec. 31st. We have changed this so it will be less confusing and easier for people to remember. This has been done in many towns with success.
Because this transition year will be shorter we will be pro-rating the 2009 fees. Please
note that these fees are only changed this year 2009 and the future years will be back
to the regular fees.
Here are the pro-rated fees: (2009 ONLY)
Spayed/neutered: $8.00
Intact dog: $15.00
Senior Citizens:
Spayed/neutered: $6.00
Intact dog: $13.00
Kennel Fees:
Four or less: $27.00
Ten or less: $57.00
Twenty-five or less: $75.00
In March we will be able to issue the new 2009 licenses.
License before June 1st to avoid the $10 late fee. You may also license by mail. Visit the Town Clerk's office webpage for information and/or mail in form. Fines and fee will apply as set forth in the Dog By-Laws. If you no longer have your dog, please notify the Town Clerk. Dog owners who fail to license will be subject to a $25 failure to license fine per the Charlton Dog By-Laws.
We hope this will be more convenient for everyone in the future.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 508 248-2249.
