Announcements: Dog Licenses: 2008 Dog Licenses are now available! 2007 Dog Licenses expire March 31, 2008. Please bring proof of rabies vaccination and spay/neuter certificate (if applicable) Licensing Fees are as follows: Male......................................$20.00 Female...................................$20.00 Senior Citizen (65 and over)...$17.00 Neutered Male.......................$10.00 Spayed Female......................$10.00 Senior Citizen (65 and over)...$8.00 Substitute Tag........................$1.00 Transfer License....................$1.00 Should any owner or keeper of a dog fail to license it before June 1st, a late fee of ten dollars ($10.00) will be charged. Kennel fees shall be as follows: Four dogs or less……....….$35.00 Ten dogs or less………......$75.00 Twenty-five dogs or less..…$100.00 Any person maintaining a kennel in the Town of Charlton who fails to license, shall pay a late fee of twenty dollars ($20.00). Rabies Clinic: The Charlton Board of Health is holding a Rabies Clinic on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 54 North Main Street, Charlton. $10 each. Dogs MUST be on leash and cats MUST be in carriers. Please bring previous rabies certificate to determine if you are eligible for a 3 year rabies vaccination. State law requires that all dogs and cats over 6 months of age have a valid rabies vaccination. The Charlton Town Clerk will be available for licensing dogs. Last day to take papers out is March 13th. The following elected town positions are open: Board of Selectmen (seat 4) - one 3 year seat Board of Selectmen (seat 5) - one 3 year seat Town Clerk - one 3 year seat Moderator - one 3 year seat Board of Assessors - one 3 year seat Cemetery Commission - one 3 year seat Water and Sewer Commission - two 3 year seats (vote for 2) Planning Board - one 5 year seat Recreation Commission - one 3 year seat Board of Health - one 3 year seat Tree Warden - one 3 year seat Trustees of the Charlton Public Library - two 3 year seats (vote for 2) Constable - two 2 year seats to fill a vacancy (vote for 2) Dudley-Charlton Regional School District Committee - one 3 year seat Dudley-Charlton Regional School District Committee - one 1 year seat (to fill vacancy) Southern Worc.
