Local Events/Activities for Teens
Welcome to the Teen Page on the Town of Charlton's website! This webpage is been created especially for teens (13-19) and offers a list of things to do in and around town. We are seeking submissions from local groups or organizations that offer social and volunteer opportunities anywhere within this age group. Submissions must be open to Charlton residents and may be subject to approval by the Charlton Board of Selectmen.

Please use the Online Teen Page Submission Form to submit your activity or event. In the alternative, you may download the Submission Form, fill it out, and mail it to: Webmaster, Town of Charlton, 37 Main Street, Charlton, MA 01507. If you have questions, comments or need something removed or changed, please email the webmaster or call the Board of Selectmen's Office at (508) 248-2206.

Hang Time: First Friday of each month 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Open gym, board games, food, and just hanging out with friends.

Focus on Friday Young Parents Night
Meets Fridays: March 23, 2007 through May 22, 2007 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm at 176 Main Street, Southbridge.
Open to: Under 21, parenting for the first time.
Description of Activity: Are you a soon-to-be-parent or parent under 21? Join free and voluntary parenting group. Each Friday for ten weeks. You choose the topics to meet your needs and answer your questions. Good dinner, good people, and great conversation. You can join Healthy Families of Southern Worcester County if you are a first-time parent age 21 and under, from pregnancy through their child's third birthday. Moms and Dads. Pregnant or parenting. All services are voluntary and free of charge, with no income guidelines. Healthy Families Massachusetts is a statewide parent home-visiting program funded by the Massachusetts Children s Trust Fund. We offer home visits, groups, family field trips, and much more. Please call for more information!

Scholarships:

Ronald J. Denault Law Enforcement Scholarship
Description: A one-thousand-dollar scholarship, honoring the memory of Ronald J. Denault, highly respected police officer at both the state and local levels, will be awarded again this June to a student in the Class of 2010. To be eligible for consideration for this award, a student must be a Charlton resident who is planning to further his/her education in pursuit of a career in law enforcement or criminal justice. Applicants may be graduating from a public or private high school or from a home schooling program that has been approved formally by the School Committee. Ideally, applicants will show evidence of scholarship, leadership, and community service.
