Power To The People:
Do you or someone you know rely on electrically operated life support systems?
The Board of Selectmen with the Emergency Management Director is compiling
a list of Charlton residents, young and old, who depend upon electrically
operated apparatus. The goal is to be able to contact residents quickly
in the event of an emergency. A warning call and then a visit to the
home would be in order should a storm cause long periods of power
outages. A potential solution would be to transport people to shelters
where generators would sustain any necessary machines. Knowing who
to call and acting quickly could save a life.
Please send the following information to the Board of Selectmen, 37
Main Street, Charlton, MA 01507:
name: street address phone: type of apparatus
All information will be added to our current Emergency Management
Plan and listed under the Special Needs Facilities. For more details
or comments to get power to the people who need it, please call (508)
248-2206. |
