Meetings are generally held the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Charlton Municipal Offices. Dates and times are posted on the cable television community bulletin board and at the Municipal Offices. Meetings are open to the public.

Areas of Responsibility:

The Ad Hoc Beaver Committee reports to the Board of Selectmen.  Responsibilities include:
  • GATHERING INFORMATION through the conduct of hearings, site visits, exchange of information with other communities and organizations with interest in beaver populations, habitats, and human-beaver coexistence, etc.
  • DISSEMINATING INFORMATION to the townspeople through education on applicable laws, alternatives for resolution of problems, sources of financial assistance, etc.;
  • ADVISING AND ASSISTING other town committees, commissions, and boards that are dealing or may deal with issues that involve beavers or beaver habitats, or whose actions may affect beavers or beaver habitats, etc.; and
  • REPORTING to the Board of Selectmen.

Composition of the Committee:

The Committee consists of seven representative members involved with the community plus a non-voting member of the Board of Selectmen (BoS) acting as liaison.
