Charlton Community Arts & Activities Center at 4 Dresser Hill Rd., Charlton, MA
On February 13, the Charlton Recreation Center at 4 Dresser Hill Road had its first open house in a previously underutilized town property. Members of the Charlton Activities Council hosted a variety of activities such as face painting, Valentine crafts, art lessons, and a puppet show for over 100 town residents of all ages. Representative Geraldo Alicea presented the CCAAC officers: Sandra Bacon, Barbara Marderosian, Deb Beaudette, Barbara Benoit, and Kristen Petrik with a certificate of recognition. Other town officials stopped in to offer their support and check out the venue. We would like to thank all contributors for their donations of time, workmanship, and supplies, said CAC chair Sandra Bacon.
The group plans to have many on-going activities. Presently, there are youth art lessons on Saturdays at 10 am and 1 pm, a card party for adults on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 pm, and a crafters co-op on site. Yoga lessons are being organized; interested parties should contact jjgoulas@hotmail.com.
